Tips on Fast Weight Loss for Special Occasions

If you are like me, you have probably been through all this before, the family wedding is coming up next month and you can’t seem to fit into that suit or dress because you have put on too much weight. So you must lose at least ten or more pounds quickly.

Losing weight quickly is not advisable as most of the loss will be muscle tissue and water; you put on the weight slowly (usually over years) so normally you should take it off slowly and then you will know that the majority of the loss will be body fat.

But you have a problem here and the clock is ticking so you will have to diet pretty hard to meet your target weight loss. Let’s look at that first, you all know that diets don’t work; they send the body into starvation mode, a survival mechanism from long age when humans faced periods of famine.

Going too low in calories causes the body to lower its metabolic rate, which reduces its ability to burn fat. At the same time, hunger signals increase and you quickly start to crave high-energy foods loaded with fats and sugar, the same foods you are trying to do without.

Research shows repeated dieting actually makes it harder to lose weight and easier to put it on because when you dump the diet and return to normal eating habits the drop in metabolic rate caused by the diet means that your old habits actually represent an excess in calories.

Not only do you regain the fat stores just lost, but also you may even gain an extra bit.

One short intense strength-training workout a week will elevate your metabolism more than you ever thought possible.

While the calories expended doing exercise are important, the increase in metabolism especially after strength training continues long after the exercise is finished, burning calories at the same time.

The two main components of this technique are the intensity of the exercise and the recovery after the exercise.

Infrequent, short, high intensity weight training sessions, followed by the required amount of time to recover and become stronger is what is needed to increase functional lean muscle and lose body fat.

Small frequent meals should be consumed during the day each containing a little protein to maintain muscle mass and energy levels. A high quality broad-spectrum vitamin and mineral supplement should also be taken on a daily basis.

As before get the calories from high quality food but if you can’t, utilize a blender to make concoctions from skim milk with whatever additives you want to use, just as long as you keep count of the calories for your daily total.

Now use these blender mixtures and solid food for your daily feedings. Spread it out over many small meals a day instead of the traditional three meals a day. The way to keep track of weight loss is to buy a calorie counter and record your daily calorie intake for a week.

Now average out how many calories you consume a day with the use of a seven-day eating plan and calorie counter, once you have this figure subtract 1000 calories and this will be the target number of calories you will be aiming for.

Remembering that one-pound of fat contains 3500cals, losing 1000 calories a day will total 7000 for the week, which equals two pounds lost by dietary means alone. Another technique for low calorie eating is to watch your fat intake as this has the most calories.

Incidental activity is also very important if you want to lose this amount of weight in this short period of time, by increasing incidental activity you can burn at least another pound a week The best exercise for the purpose of fat-loss is fast walking either indoors on the treadmill or outdoors.

Walk until you are mildly puffing and hold that rate until the allotted time. If your aerobic activities leave you panting or breathless, your going too hard, your energy is coming from your carbohydrate reserves and not from your fat stores. Try fast walking for one hour a day every day of the week.

Well there you have it, as an experienced trainer I wouldn’t recommend this type of program to my clients. The weight loss is just too quick and the program would be very hard to maintain owing to the very low caloric intake.

I advise my clients to decrease their calories by just 500 per day (and no more) below their maintenance levels and they will be losing 1 - 2 pounds of body fat every week, safely, without craving and without too much disruption to their lifestyle.

In conclusion remember, think long term here and that’s between 30 and 50 pounds of fat lost in six months. Any faster and all you will be losing is water and precious muscle tissue.

You should not be so out of breath that you have trouble talking or have to gasp for air. If you have to do that, slow down, you’re overdoing it.

It is important to keep your body in that zone of operation for at least 30 minutes. Your body only begins to burn fat after a good 10 to 12 minutes of exercise. During that time it first consumes the immediate nutrition that is available to it.

For fast weight loss with exercise you will probably need to go for longer than 30 minutes. An hour to ninety minutes would consume a sizeable chunk of fat every day.

Once again, do not overdo it. Doing this for three hours a day is probably going to be worse than better. One disadvantage is it is going to leave you completely exhausted.

Also accelerate your metabolism while you are exercising like this. You do that by eating six to seven small meals per day.

Remember, whenever you’re exercising and you start feeling dizzy, nauseous, or experience pain or discomfort, stop immediately and consult with your physician.

When overweight individuals are told they have to change their eating styles, the dread that comes with this thought is at varying degrees. In other words, some people’s pre- weight loss eating habits are not as bad as what someone else’s is. Their lack of losing fat may have to do with some other factors. It’s the fast food junkies that face pure panic when they are told they must change their eating habits. Part of the problem, and part of the failure for some people is they try to make the transition too quickly. Just as some people can quit smoking cold turkey, while others have to wean themselves off.

The name of this method it self explains the way of performing this exercise. What Hiit cardio can do to you is that it can really increase your metabolism, increase your speed dramatically and also help you burn body fat fast.

The best time to do this cardio workout is in the morning before your meal. This is because you can straight away burn fat instead of needing to burn the sugar first and also if your cardio workout is done in the morning, you can have the benefit of higher metabolism throughout the day!

How to lose belly fat fast with Hiit cardio?

Here are the details of the workout. Basically, the entire workout last for twenty minutes and this workout are split into ten intervals and one interval consists of one minute sprint and one minute walk. Notice that I have used the word sprint. In this lose belly fat fast cardio workout, you really have to sprint to the point of out of breath. You really have to test yourself to the limit in each sprint minute! Then, after the one minute sprint, walk for one minute to recover. Straight after the recovery minute is over, sprint again hard!

For example if you use the stairmaster, for the sprint interval, use level thirteen and for the recovery use level five assuming that the difficulty scale is from intensity one to intensity fifteen.

You can also use Hiit cardio workout outdoors. This kind of training is also called wind sprints. For example, find a mark that is around two hundred meters away from you. A mark can be a lamppost, a tree or even a bench. Sprint as hard as you can to the mark. Once you reached it, just jog back to your starting point. Do ten to fifteen intervals.

For a tip, before you start your intervals, I suggest you warm up for five minutes first and stretch your muscles to prevent injury. This is a workout for intermediate to advance exerciser. If you are a beginner, I suggest you increase your cardio fitness first. Consult your doctor before starting this program if you have any medical illnesses.

Fast Fat Loss, And Other Weight Control Secrets

Weight loss programs abound. But have you noticed? It seems that, while more and more diet programs are popping up, the general population continues to get fatter!

This is crazy. But if you’ve ever tried to lose weight this phenomenon is actually quite easy to understand. Most people see that they have a fat problem, and they begin to tackle it, but then they give up when the going suddenly gets too tough. For example, perhaps they skip lunch to lose weight, and then drink multiple cups of coffee to get them through the day. But discouragement sets in when they come home, read a health book, and discover that coffee and caffeine drinks are major causes of cellulite! What’s a person to do? (You actually need to increase, not decrease your intake of essential fatty acids if you have cellulite.)

Are you depressed already? I hope not. But it’s the same with ab machines: After you exercise with them, your more muscled abs will probably still be covered with fat! Are you bothered with crazy diets? Diets are a health risk! And by the way, low carb diets burn sugar, NOT fat.

Have you tried impossible mind control goals? What about expensive weight loss clinics?

Dieting by eating less food seems logical, but I believe there are other things you can do that can be even more effective! For example:

TRY THIS

Did you know that your body has a daily, or circadian rhythm that turns most of the food you eat in the morning into energy? Whereas most of the food you eat in the evening, your body turns into fat! Therefore, to lose weight you should eat large main meals for breakfast and very light meals, or only fruit in the evening! This is the opposite to what most of the world is doing, but if you try this you will find that you will probably lose about 4 lb a week without changing the amount of food you eat overall. Why not go ahead and prove this for yourself?

WILL EXERCISE HELP?

Here’s another secret. To increase you metabolic burn rate you need to do some type of non-stop aerobic exercise for 35 to 45 minutes at least every second day. Brisk walking is the easiest to do. I’ve been told Latin dancing is the best! If you do UNDER half an hour, or take rests, you are wasting your time as it won’t increase your burn rate! Of course, be careful not to overdo it. Runners and athletes sometimes drop dead in their prime! Do you know why? Could it be that they don’t replace the important minerals their body needs in time? They use them up and sweat them out, and so the vital minerals their body needs are gone! They die from lack of what their body just used up! On the other side of the coin, please don’t be so idle that you become a vegetable. All life is energy and vibration and movement.

Here are a few other things you can try:

WARM WATER

You can tell if you don’t drink enough water - if you have dry skin. Water decreases food cravings and water also increases your metabolic rate. First thing in the morning if you drink three glasses of warm water, (warm is important) you should soon feel the need to go to the toilet. If you don’t like plain water, include lemon juice. Do this regularly, and over time your digestive system should improve wonderfully. Is this too hard to do? I think this is a dreary thing to do - I personally prefer other fat loss methods! But it’s still good advice!

JUICE

According to all evidence the health results of juice fasting are much better than water fasting. Although fasting in any form can be difficult, it’s often claimed that fasting can work real health miracles. Obviously you would want to get a LOT more advice than I’ve included in this short report before you commit to this method, but I will add the following tip that I’ve used successfully in the past. A good recipe for a week long cleansing fast consists of a cup of hot or warm water, mixed with plenty of lemon juice, a little honey to suit your taste, and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Cayenne pepper also speeds up your metabolism (and by the way, when packed into a wound it will stop the blood flow instantly!). In addition take a tablespoon full of real Canadian maple syrup for sustained energy whenever you feel the need - yum, I can never take just one spoonful, as I find it irresistible! (Make sure you buy genuine maple syrup only, not the imitation stuff).

TWO MORE THINGS:

(1) It almost sounds corny to say it, but try eating an apple every day. Perhaps as a replacement evening meal. (Providing you’ve already had a nice big breakfast in the morning, and a good lunch so you’re not still hungry in the evening.) Apples are really good for you in numerous ways. They also tend to fill you up without adding fat!

(2) Chew all food till it becomes a liquid in your mouth. I know this is hard to do if you’re hungry, but it helps your digestion no end.

My views are “everything in moderation”. BUT I DO KNOW THAT if you want to make a genuine effort to lose body fat that a couple of alcoholic drinks per day could easily effect your fat loss attempts. So unless your’s is the case above then I would seriously think about “cutting back”.

Since I began as a trainer years ago I have found that it is usually junk food or alcohol that prevents my clients from losing body fat. Just going without those few EXTRA drinks after work or consuming less alcohol at social gatherings will make a considerable difference to how much body fat you lose.

Quit Fooling Yourself

Do not fool yourself by thinking that if you just fat burn or exercise for one extra session per week you can rid yourself of all those extra calories and fat from alcohol and food. Unfortunately our bodies aren’t that easily fixed.

Why Most People Don’t Succeed at Losing Body Fat

Other than the temptations mentioned above people tend not to succeed at fat loss because they are either not committed, not well informed on fat loss or they are committed for the wrong reasons. In other words you either aren’t abiding by the rules, or have been mislead by some other belief or you are trying to lose body fat because you are trying to keep other people happy by doing so rather than yourself. Making Sure You are Trying to Lose Body Fat to Please YOU, Not Everyone Else.

Think about why it is you want to lose body fat. Make sure you really want to put in 100% effort.. You want to feel great about making this decision not obliged to do it. Losing body fat can help increase your self-esteem as well as boosting your health so giving it your best shot with a positive frame of mind is always the “way to go”.

Things that You Should Do Before You Get Started!

First you may want to make notes on what time of the day, when and where that you will most probably find it the most difficult to stick to this program. If, say for instance, “calling in at the drive thru for fast food on the way home from work or picking the children up” is where you find that you are most likely to go wrong then be prepared for it by making the appropriate changes. eg Having a meal which is already partly prepared in the fridge so that it will only take an extra 10 - 15 minutes to cook. Being organised with food preparation is very very important. It is exhausting coming home after a long day and realising you have to then organise something for dinner (amongst other things) You can bet the children would jump for joy if you offered them Mac’s - so you do - at least there is no washing up the dishes after dinner either…Sound familiar? In large doses, or when taken with inadequate water, flaxseed may precipitate bowel obstruction via a mass effect. The effects of flaxseed on blood glucose levels are not clear, although hyperglycemic effects have been reported in one case series. Diets high in lignans can lead to a lower chance of getting colon, prostate, and breast cancer. Flax is 100 times richer in lignan than most whole grains.

But you should be drinking a lot of water after consuming the seeds.

Flax Hull Lignans are very beneficial for many health conditions. Studies have shown that SDG or lignan (secoisolariciresinol diglycoside, but for simplicity this substance will be referred to as lignans) Like the omega-3s found in fish, it appears to reduce the risk of heart disease and numerous other ailments.

Re-orgnanising Your Lifestyle - Don’t Make it Difficult on Yourself!

Re-orgnanising your lifestyle may be quite a challenge for most people and families. But if you want to succeed at fat loss I am sure you want to be able to do it without tearing your hair out. Your goal is to re-arrange and plan your day so that you, your family and your new lifestyle can run smoothly. Such as planning your low-fat meals and recipes in a diary. Planning your grocery shop with a shopping list to prevent you from buying unnecessary junk food is also a great idea. Pre-preparing meals, making appointments for your exercise time slot etc all needs to be written into your appointment book or diary. You can tick each appointment off as the day progresses. When planning your shopping list remember, that unless you have the time, don’t go getting all creative with lowfat banquets etc for lunches and dinner. Choose simple to prepare ingredients and meals.

What Exercise Should I be Performing to Burn Body Fat? There seems to be alot of controversy over what to do and what not to do when it comes to “fat burning” exercise. Mostly it depends on your fitness level and if you have any type of injuries, back pain or medical conditions that may affect what you can and can’t do. Make sure you check with your doctor first before starting any type of exercise or eating program, so he / she can indicate and provide you with a letter verifying that it is “ok” for you to start exercising and at what level.

Different Types of Exercising for Fat Burning

Does Omega 3 Lowers Cholesterol? Why is Flaxseed called the Miracle Food? Treadmills, indoor cycles, cardiovascular machines etc any of these are great for performing fat burning exercise, provided your doctor says it’s cool to go ahead with it. If you enjoy being outdoors then walking and cycling are also great. Finding a program that suits your bodies needs and fitness level is important. Make sure you add variety to your fat burning program as you advance adding hills, inclines and speed rather than increasing the time. A reasonable time for fat burning is approx 20 - 30 mins.

You should also know that if you increase the time of your fat burning session, and not the intensity and other variations, you will find that as you advance your program your sessions may become too long. This will only encourage you to think that your exercise is becoming too time consuming and a chore - which will lead you to “throwing in the towel”. So keep up the variety to keep it interesting. Have you ever read a successful fat loss story that you, and everyone else you know, tried only to find that it didn’t work that well for you or them? Did you stop to think that maybe the person in the success story had their program specifically designed for their body type, not yours! If you really want to “kick some fat loss butt” you need a program that is designed to suit your body type and fitness level. Don’t expect super results from a program that someone else used, remember they may have had a different metabolism, fitness level, body shape and eating program to you, which makes it very difficult for you to reach the same levels of fatloss as they did.
